Robotics Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role :

We’re looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to build and own the cloud infrastructure and fleet systems behind Syncere’s Lume. You’ll help our products remain secure, reliable, and manageable as usage grows. This is a hands-on role spanning system design, backend development, security, and production operations. You’ll set technical direction, solve operational problems, and plan for the next stage of scale.

What You'll Do :

  • Design and operate cloud services and infrastructure for a growing fleet, balancing reliability, performance, and cost

  • Build secure robot registration, authentication, and remote management, with clear permissions across devices and services

  • Develop telemetry, monitoring, and alerting for robot availability, hardware health, and system performance

  • Strengthen infrastructure security and protect customer data, including data privacy, residency, and access controls

  • Build CI/CD pipelines to package, validate, version, sign, and deploy robot software and AI models, with staged over-the-air rollouts and rollback

  • Plan capacity for growing usage, lead incident response, and improve service availability, recovery, and operational tooling

  • Set the infrastructure roadmap, improve developer workflows, and anticipate future platform and team needs

  • Work flexible shifts including nights/weekends as needed

What We're Looking For :

  • Experience building and scaling production infrastructure or distributed systems, with ownership of reliability, performance, and operational outcomes.

  • Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare, with deep production experience in at least one major cloud platform.

  • Strong software engineering skills and practical experience with Linux, networking, databases, and infrastructure as code.

  • Experience with authentication, authorization, and secure software delivery, including safe rollouts and rollback.

Nice to Have :

  • Experience with robotics or IoT fleets, robotics middleware, or remote device management.

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security, public key infrastructure (PKI), or device certificates.

  • Experience with reproducible builds, release tooling, or deploying AI models.•

  • Obsessed with thoughtful design; can point to a product that “sparks joy” and say why

  • Loves good food and has a strong opinion on the best burrito within 2 miles (we do team meals)

  • Someone with a chip on their shoulder who gets a thrill from proving doubters wrong

  • Low-ego collaborator who gives and receives kind, actionable feedback

Details :

• Full time and internship (4-month minimum contract) options available
• In person, M–F, 9–6.
• Health benefits included, company holidays, team meals, sick leave, etc.
• Preference given to candidates who can start immediately

How to Apply :

Send your resume and a cover letter with bullet points explaining why you’re the perfect candidate for this role (highlighting relevant experiences, projects, publications, and skills). If someone referred you, please include their name in the application.

If there's something unique about you, please mention it. The clearer and more concise, the better. Make sure to mention your expected start date.
